Meet The Board

Dr. Jamie DVM, CVA, CVFT, CVTP
President/Veterinarian
Jamie is a lifelong animal lover, healer, alchemist, and dreamer. Jamie graduated from Ross University in 2018 and pursued her clinical training at the Royal Vet College in London, UK. After graduation she pursued an internship in Emergency/General Practice/and Soft Tissue Surgery at the Animal Medical Hospital in Charlotte, NC. After working several years in emergency and general practice medicine, she pursued additional training in TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) at the Chi Institute, and even got to study acupuncture in Bejing. She now owns and manages a small holistic vet practice with a focus on acupuncture, Chinese herbal medications, natural nutrition, and hospice/end of life care. Jamie is excited to bring her worldwide experience and compassionate care to displaced dogs who fall through the cracks of traditional systems. Aside from animal care, she enjoys hiking, biking, yoga, cooking and travel.
Jane Barber
Treasurer
Jane Barber is a seasoned financial manager with over 20 years of public service experience in Kentucky State Government. As a lifelong lover of all animals, Jane brings a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to The Gray Muzzle Project. With a background in budget and finance, Jane has worked with budgets of all types including straight forward small grant budgets to ultra-complicated biennial budgets for the Departments of Medicaid and the Office of Inspector General.
Her financial perspective will support the vision and endeavors of The Gray Muzzle Project, and she is excited to be involved with this dedicated team. Jane joined The Gray Muzzle Project because she believes that all animals have the right to spend their final years in an environment where they are safe, respected, cared for, and loved.
In addition to serving on the Board, Jane enjoys hiking - taking her four-legged hiking buddy Leo whenever possible, traveling with her husband, gardening, cuddling with her kitties, camping and enjoying the great outdoors.

Claudia Zysk
Secretary
Claudia is a professional pet sitter and owner of a dog boarding business in Port Townsend. The two dogs she was chosen to care for in her lifetime moved from country to country with her as their human guardian. One of them, Bella, would have benefited from the existence of a place like The Gray Muzzle Project. Bella had an amazing life up to senior age and illness, and inspired Claudia to dedicate her energy to caring for non-human animals. When not around animals, Claudia provides HR consulting and recruiting services to small organizations. Her superpowers are organizational skills, detail and task orientation, and project management honed at large global companies, and they come to very good use at The Gray Muzzle Project. In her free time, she practices meditation and is on a spiritual journey to sustain joy and peace. She is excited to join the board to help the organization rise and shine.
Dr. Traci Wagner
Board Member
Dr Traci Wagner is thrilled to join the board of the Gray Muzzle Project. A life-long animal lover, she became a vegetarian as a child. She has volunteered with several animal welfare and plant-based organizations over the years. Now a retired pediatrician, she is excited to devote more time and energy to improving the lives of all creatures.
In addition to providing cuddles and comfort to our elderly furry residents, Traci will help with outreach and volunteer coordination.
Fun fact: Traci raised 3 vegan, whole food plant-based children who continue to respect all sentient beings as adults.

Kendra Madison
Board Member
Kendra is a licensed veterinary technician with over 15 years of experience in the veterinary industry. She found her first calling in HQHVSN (high-quality,
high-volume spay/neuter) and community medicine in 2014, and then spent nearly four years managing clinical care for Pasado’s Safe Haven. In 2019, she found a new love in emergency and critical care and has spent most of her professional time in ECC spaces since then.
Her animal family includes Franny, an 8y/o deaf mixed breed terrier; and Nugget and Lilo, 12y/o orange tabbies. While she has proudly never foster failed, many of Kendra’s friends and colleagues have an animal that once lived in her bathroom.

In the summer of 2024, Kendra hung up her foster hat to welcome Silas, the most perfect human baby. In her spare time, Kendra enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, laughing, and writing lists.
Judy Krebs
Board Member
Judy Krebs lives in Port Townsend and practices labor and employment law. Judy is a long time supporter of animal rescue organizations and campaigns. She currently lives with her rescue dogs Kallie, Clancy and June.
