Mission
Provide forever homes and hospice care to special needs
senior dogs on the Olympic Peninsula
Vision
We dream of a world where senior dogs' last days are spent in comfort and peace
Values
Compassionate Care
We believe that every dog deserves the opportunity to grow old in a peaceful and fear free setting. We honor each dog as an individual, with consideration for their will to both live and die with dignity, surrounded by love and compassion.
Community Collaboration
The Gray Muzzle Project values maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with local and regional animal rescue organizations by providing a transfer option for senior dogs either not thriving in a shelter environment or that are difficult to adopt/foster. The Gray Muzzle project aims to support local farmers and small businesses by choosing locally sourced food and supplies.
Supporting the Human Animal Bond
We believe that animals have the ability to enrich our lives. We strive to be the people our dogs think we are. We believe that as we invest in the healing of animals, we heal ourselves, and each other.

The Gray Muzzle Project is a non-profit dog rescue in Chimacum, Washington, specializing in providing a forever home to special needs senior dogs. Our goal is to collaborate with local animal rescue organizations to reduce the number of dogs in shelters needing specialized hospice care.

The Gray Muzzle Project is a compassionate initiative dedicated to improving the lives of senior dogs, who frequently encounter health challenges and have lower rates of adoption. This project provides support by facilitating transfer of dogs from local organizations, offering essential medical hospice care, and providing long term housing. Additionally, the project aims to raise awareness about the advantages of welcoming older dogs into families, highlighting the unique joy and companionship they can bring to people's lives.
